Pierre Leroy steps down from the General Management of the Lagardère group and becomes Advisor to the Chairman

In view of his forthcoming retirement, Pierre Leroy has informed the Board of Directors of his decision to terminate his office as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, member of the Executive Committee and advisor on the Board of Directors of Lagardère SA, with immediate effect from 19 March 2024.

Pierre Leroy was appointed Advisor to the Group's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Arnaud Lagardère, with effect from that same date. He will also continue to hold the following directorships within the Group: 

-          Chairman of Lagardère Ressources, which employs the members of the Group's central functions; - Chairman of Lagardère Paris Racing Ressources;

-          Deputy Director of Fondation Jean-Luc Lagardère;

-          Chairman of Fondation Hachette pour la lecture, which he himself set up.

Arnaud Lagardère commented: "I would like to extend my warmest thanks to Pierre Leroy for the 54 wonderful years he has devoted to the Lagardère group, working alongside Sylvain Floirat, Jean-Luc Lagardère and then myself. Pierre is a man of passion, a loyal servant to the Group and one of the key architects of its development, transformation and many successes. At the head of Hachette Livre between 2021 and 2023, he set the Group on a path to global leadership, transformation and adaptation to new uses, with performance levels never achieved before. Pierre is highly respected and held in the utmost esteem by all the Group's employees and stakeholders. I am delighted to be able to count on him at my side going forward as we lead Lagardère to new heights.” 

Pierre Leroy said: "I would like to thank Arnaud Lagardère, the Group as a whole and its employees, who have brought me so much happiness and fulfilment over all these years. While I am about to open a new chapter in life, I will continue to lend my hand and my experience to writing the next pages in the story of this Group whose transformations I have lived through and that I will continue to serve with pride.”
