Encavis secures major allocation in Italy’s Energy Release 2.0 programme
Hamburg,18 February 2026 – Encavis, a leading pan-European Independent Power Producer in the Renewable Energy sector and headquartered in Hamburg, has secured one of the most significant allocations within Italy’s Energy Release 2.0 mechanism. With contracts covering approximately 3.7 terawatt hours (TWh), Encavis obtained over 16% of the total volume made available.
Introduced by the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the Energy Release 2.0 scheme will help electricity‑intensive companies manage price volatility and support the development of new renewable generation. Encavis’ successful result highlights its growing presence in the Italian market and its contribution to the decarbonisation of Europe’s industrial sector.
Mario Schirru, CEO of Encavis, comments: “Our significant participation in Energy Release 2.0 marks another important milestone for Encavis in the Italian market. Securing more than 16% of the total programme volume not only underscores our competitiveness, but also reflects the outstanding work of our entire team. This achievement is further proof of our ability to execute on our customer-focused commercialisation strategy by delivering clean, reliable, affordable, and tailor-made electricity solutions. We are proud to contribute to Italy’s renewable energy expansion and would like to thank our partners for the strong and successful collaboration within this innovative mechanism.”
As a delegated third party, Encavis entered into direct agreements with energy‑intensive companies and aggregators. This structure enables participants to access electricity at controlled prices under long‑term, government‑defined Contracts for Difference (CfDs), while committing to develop new renewable capacity over the coming years.
