Wood in Architecture Awards Celebrate Innovative & Resilient Design
WASHINGTON, D.C. / ACCESSWIRE / June 6, 2024 / WoodWorks - Wood Products Council has announced the 2024 Wood in Architecture award winners. These awards honor excellence in mass timber, heavy timber, light-frame, and hybrid building design. The program celebrates developers and design teams that use wood innovatively, impacting the environment, occupants, and communities positively across the U.S.
"This year’s winning projects exemplify wood's positive influence in modern design,” said WoodWorks President and CEO, Jennifer Cover. She applauded designers for their ingenuity and dedication to innovative wood projects, encouraging others to consider wood solutions at any scale.
The winning projects highlight innovative design nationwide, showcasing wood's role in sustainable and flexible architecture. The projects include an office building with a nearly all-mass timber frame, a temporary outdoor structure symbolizing environmental justice, educational buildings, and multi-family housing. An independent jury evaluated the projects based on design excellence, innovative wood use, sustainability and resilience, and market impact.
