Willkie Advises 3i Group on Sale of Weener Plastics
Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP advised 3i Group plc on the sale of its investment in Weener Plastics to Silgan Holdings Inc. The deal values Weener Plastics at EUR 838 million. Headquartered in Ede, The Netherlands, Weener Plastics employs over 4,000 people and operates 23 facilities in 15 countries.
The company is a global supplier of plastic packaging solutions, focusing on dispensing, containing, and closing. It designs and manufactures caps, closures, roll-ons, jars, and bottles for personal care, food, home care, and healthcare industries. The transaction is expected to complete in Q4 2024, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
The Willkie team was led by partners Georg Linde and Dr. Axel Wahl, along with Dr. Jasmin Dettmar and other key team members. Additional support was provided by KNPZ Rechtsanwälte and Houthoff.
