Wendel completes strategic acquisition of Monroe Capital

Wendel has completed the acquisition of a 75% majority stake in Monroe Capital LLC, strengthening its asset management strategy. This transaction, completed with AXA IM Prime, values Wendel's asset management platform at approximately €34 billion in private assets, with a target revenue of €160 million in Fee Related Earnings by 2025.

As part of this agreement, Wendel invested $1.133 billion to acquire a 72% stake in Monroe Capital. Monroe Capital, led by Ted Koenig, is a leading private debt firm in the United States, with a strong track record across market cycles.

Wendel's strategy aims to create a dual-asset management platform alongside its own investments. This initiative is expected to offer attractive returns for shareholders, strengthening Wendel's position in the private asset management market.
