WEACCESS GROUP: Accelerates its commercial deployment

Weaccess Group will equip the Grand Port Maritime de La Réunion with a private 4G network that can be upgraded to 5G. Intended for the Port Est, this network will support mobile port business applications. The Port Est specializes in commercial and logistics activities, handling containers, cereals, hydrocarbons, goods and coal.

Two radio transmission sites will be built on the 2.6 GHz TDD band, independent of public networks. The experimental phase will last 6 months before commercial operation. The network will include a backup core and SIM cards independent of public operators.

Weaccess will use Zebra 4G/5G terminals to migrate port applications to the new network. This project allows the company to demonstrate its expertise and opens up opportunities with other French ports. Negotiations are already underway.
