Volume Production Begins for Mynaric’s Flagship Space Laser Terminal – CONDOR Mk3

Mynaric, a prominent provider of laser communications products, has announced the start of volume production for its flagship product, the CONDOR Mk3. This marks a significant milestone in the company's development of free space optical communications terminals for space-to-space and space-to-ground applications. The production initiated early in the first quarter of 2024, with an initial shipment already dispatched following customer approval.

CEO Mustafa Veziroglu expressed pride in achieving this milestone, highlighting it as a major chapter for the company. The CONDOR Mk3 will be integrated into government and commercial constellations, indicating strong collaboration between Mynaric and its key customers. Initial shipments are designated for the United States Space Development Agency (SDA) Tranche 1 Transport and Tracking Layer programs, with Mynaric being the sole supplier for significant parts of these programs.

Chief Operations Officer Juan Carlos Lopez emphasized the challenge of manufacturing cost-effective optical communications terminals at scale, a goal Mynaric has now reached through vertical integration of its manufacturing process. This enhances efficiency and the company's responsiveness to customer missions. Mynaric is also exploring additional uses of free space optical communications in various space programs, indicating a broadening of its technological impact.
