Voestalpine AG Reports Strong Performance Amid Economic Challenges

Voestalpine AG reported a solid performance for the 2024/25 business year despite facing challenging conditions. The company's EBITDA reached EUR 1.3 billion, down from EUR 1.7 billion the previous year, with revenue at EUR 15.7 billion, a slight decrease from EUR 16.7 billion in 2023/24. Key earnings were impacted by a tough economic environment and significant reorganization efforts.

The company continued to maintain low debt levels while achieving a high free cash flow of EUR 309 million. Investment in Austria’s greentec steel program reached approximately one-third of its EUR 1.5 billion budget. Employee numbers decreased by 3.7% to 49,700 due to divestments and reorganization.

Voestalpine is advancing its local-for-local strategy, expanding projects in markets like Egypt and Brazil. For 2025/26, EBITDA is projected between EUR 1.4 and EUR 1.55 billion, amidst global economic uncertainties and new US tariffs impacting steel and aluminum imports.
