Vision Marine Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:VMAR), a leader in electric recreational boating, has appointed Raffi Sossoyan as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), starting March 1, 2024. This move is part of the company’s strategy to bolster its operations as it enters a new phase focused on manufacturing and delivery. With over 25 years of experience in financial and operational leadership, Sossoyan is expected to play a crucial role in Vision Marine’s future growth.

Prior to joining Vision Marine, Sossoyan made significant contributions at Velan, Inc., overseeing financial operations with global sales over US$370 million, and at Valtech Fabrication, Inc., where he helped drive worldwide sales above US$50 million. Vision Marine CEO Alex Mongeon has expressed excitement about Sossoyan’s appointment, highlighting his proven track record and the alignment of his expertise with the company’s strategic goals.

Sossoyan shared his enthusiasm for contributing to Vision Marine’s growth, particularly in advancing the commercialization of the E-Motion™ outboard powertrain system. The company also acknowledged the contributions of departing CFO Kulwant Sandher, whose guidance was pivotal, especially during the IPO process and the development of E-Motion™ technology. Sandher will continue to offer his expertise as a consultant.
