VINCI wins a contract for a green hydrogen steelmaking site in Germany
VINCI has been awarded a contract valued at €74 million for industrial piping and mechanical work in Duisburg, Germany. The Cobra IS subsidiary will carry out this work for SMS Group GmbH within the Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe industrial complex.
The site will have a production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes of pre-reduced iron ore per year and will run exclusively on green hydrogen. This project represents a significant step forward in reducing CO2 emissions, with an annual saving of 3.5 million tonnes.
The success of this contract illustrates VINCI's commitment to the transition to environmentally responsible technologies.
