US Med-Equip Supports Hospitals Amid Supply Chain and Respiratory Illness Challenges
As the flu season approaches amid a supply chain crisis, hospitals across the U.S. are preparing for potential surges in flu, COVID-19, and RSV cases. US Med-Equip (USME), a leading equipment provider, is increasing deliveries of ventilators and other life-saving devices to address rising demand. Last season, respiratory infections resulted in over 800,000 hospitalizations, pushing healthcare providers to seek critical equipment support from USME.
The ongoing exit of several ventilator manufacturers from the U.S. market and rising equipment costs have exacerbated the ventilator shortage. Renting equipment has become a viable option for hospitals, allowing them to manage patient needs without heavy financial investments. In response, USME is amplifying its rental deliveries, having provided more than 50,000 ventilators last year.
Preparation remains essential as respiratory illnesses surge from November to February. The CDC emphasizes vaccinations but also warns of possible high hospitalization rates. USME's CEO, Greg Salario, highlights the importance of readiness, ensuring that healthcare providers can focus on patient care.
