U-blox Introduces LTE Cat 1bis Module with Embedded eSIM

Thalwil, Switzerland – u-blox, a provider of positioning and wireless technologies, has launched the SARA-R10001DE, an LTE Cat 1bis module. Featuring an embedded eSIM, this module aims to enhance IoT applications' connectivity through improved robustness and reliability. The eSIM allows users to flexibly manage connectivity by switching to networks offering optimal coverage and cost efficiency, facilitated by Wireless Logic's solutions.

The module supports full LTE Cat 1bis bands and utilizes multi-IMSI technology with eUICC capability, permitting remote provisioning of SIM profiles. This feature automatically connects to the best network available, ensuring constant and reliable connectivity by switching operators if necessary.

By integrating an eSIM, the logistics process for customers is simplified, reducing the complexity of SIM management and eliminating related component needs. Additionally, the SARA-R10001DE's design supports global LTE coverage, providing an upgrade path from legacy 2G and 3G devices.
