Turlov Advocates for Ukrainian Representation in FIDE

Timur Turlov has called for stronger Ukrainian involvement in the FIDE leadership, suggesting Ukraine nominate a candidate for FIDE Vice President should he be elected. His proposal emphasizes Ukraine's significant contributions to international chess. Turlov, running for FIDE President alongside Viswanathan Anand, highlighted Ukraine's lineage of chess expertise and its necessity to be part of FIDE's decision-making processes.

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to Ukraine’s presidential office, expressed support for Turlov’s vision and readiness to join his FIDE team. Recently, under Turlov's leadership in Kazakhstani chess, the nation has enhanced its educational outreach in chess, impacting thousands of students and teachers.

With the FIDE election on September 26, Turlov's campaign prioritizes digital, educational, and institutional advancements. Three presidential tickets are in the race, each member federation holding a decisive vote.
