TRATON Reports Significant Growth in 2023 with Sales Revenue Hitting €47 Billion
TRATON SE, a key player in the global commercial vehicle manufacturing industry, announced a robust performance for the fiscal year 2023. The company saw its sales revenue surge by 16%, reaching approximately €46.9 billion. This growth can largely be attributed to higher new vehicle sales, improved market presence, and expanded vehicle services.
The adjusted operating result substantially increased to €4.0 billion, marking a 95% rise from the previous fiscal period. Moreover, the adjusted operating return on sales climbed to 8.6%, a significant improvement from the 5.1% recorded in 2022. The per-share earnings more than doubled, jumping from €2.28 to €4.90.
An impressive factor in TRATON's success story is the concerted effort across its brands, including Scania, MAN, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus, which together pushed the group's revenue to new heights. These brands not only scaled up their sales figures but also made significant strides in the electric mobility sector, with initiatives like Scania's battery assembly plant aimed at bolstering large-scale electric vehicle production.
Despite the challenging market conditions, TRATON maintains an optimistic outlook for 2024. The company forecasts its sales revenue and adjusted operating return on sales to remain steady, buoyed by a strong order book which promises sustained activity into the second half of the year. Furthermore, a proposal has been made to increase the shareholder dividend to €1.50 per share, reflecting the company's strong financial health and confidence going forward.
