Touax Secures €50 Million EIB Loan for Rail Investment
Touax announced a €50 million green loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to expand its fleet of freight railcars. The EIB, known as the EU's climate bank, supports Touax's dedication to sustainable transportation through the Touax Sustainable Transportation project. The loan, obtained on 30 April 2025, spans 14 years, enhancing Touax's long-term stability and investment capacity.
This initiative benefits from the European Union’s InvestEU programme, aimed at promoting environmentally friendly infrastructure. Touax’s managing partners, Fabrice and Raphaël Walewski, highlighted this loan's alignment with their strategic goals to participate confidently in the upcoming investment cycles.
EIB Vice-President Ambroise Fayolle emphasized the environmental benefits of shifting freight from road to rail, reinforcing Touax's role in reducing sectoral CO2 emissions.
