The Success of Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) CEO Gathering and Leader Conference 2024 in Bangkok

The Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA), in collaboration with the Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), hosted the "GCCA CEO Gathering and Leader Conference 2024" in Bangkok. This event marks the first cement and concrete industry summit in Thailand, emphasizing global efforts to support the Thai cement industry with an innovation and green fund valued at CAD 8 million.

Thailand's Minister of Industry, Pimphattra Wichaikul, highlighted the national roadmap for achieving Net Zero Emissions in the cement industry. The conference brought together over 200 CEOs and leaders from the global industry, fostering international collaboration and policy implementation.

Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Industry, underscored the importance of climate change initiatives like the 'Saraburi Sandbox Low Carbon City.' Dr. Chana Poomee, Chairman of TCMA, emphasized the significance of the green fund in advancing Thailand's Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap for 2050.

Thomas Guillot, CEO of GCCA, praised the roadmap but acknowledged challenges such as policy and procurement issues. He stressed the importance of international cooperation to achieve net-zero concrete goals.
