The Success of GCCA CEO Gathering and Leaders Conference 2024 in Bangkok
The Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA), in collaboration with the Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), hosted the "GCCA CEO Gathering and Leaders Conference 2024" in Bangkok. This summit gathered over 200 industry leaders to advance efforts towards a Net Zero future. Thailand secured an innovation and green fund of CAD 8 million from Canada's government, facilitated by UNIDO, to support decarbonization research and projects in the cement industry.
Minister of Industry, Miss Pimphattra Wichaikul, emphasized Thailand's leadership with a credible roadmap for achieving Net Zero Emissions. Collaboration between sectors is essential for success. Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol highlighted Thailand’s approach to climate change through the Bio-Circular-Green economy concept.
Dr. Chana Poomee, Chairman of TCMA, noted the importance of this green fund in elevating Thailand's cement industry. Mr. Thomas Guillot, CEO of GCCA, acknowledged the challenges and the necessity for global collaborative efforts to achieve net-zero concrete.
