Technogym and World Athletics Unveil RUN X™, the World's First Treadmill Championship

Technogym and World Athletics have partnered to introduce RUN X, the inaugural World Treadmill Championship. This innovative 5 km virtual running competition is set to connect professional and amateur athletes globally, revolutionizing the running experience. Traditionally conducted outdoors, this event will now be accessible indoors, breaking geographical barriers and leveraging Technogym's extensive treadmill network.

Technogym, recognized for its high-performance treadmills across 120 countries, aims to promote physical activity with this initiative. Starting in early 2026, global fitness centers can join the network, allowing members to compete and track rankings online, thanks to Technogym's connected ecosystem. Winners will advance to the world final, vying for a $100,000 prize and wild cards to prestigious World Athletics events.

The partnership underscores a shared vision to engage more people in running, offering a secure, weatherproof environment. As the competition culminates in an iconic final location, it signals a new era for e-sports, combining physical activity with digital connectivity.
