Teach Access Announces Call for Proposals for 2024-2025 Grants Program

Teach Access, a national nonprofit dedicated to bridging the accessibility skills gap, has opened its call for proposals for the sixth round of its grants program aimed at college instructors. These grants, valued at $2,000 each, support the development of college curricula that incorporate accessibility concepts and skills.

The program targets instructors aiming to embed accessible design and development teachings into their existing courses. Applications for the 2024-2025 academic year grants are due by March 31, 2024, at 11 p.m. ET. Detailed information on applying can be found on Teach Access’s website.

Sponsored by major corporations including Verizon, Salesforce, and Google, the Teach Access Grants program has awarded over $350,000 since 2018. This funding bolsters the nonprofit’s efforts to enrich educational resources on digital accessibility and universal design. The Teach Access Curriculum Repository, populated with contributions from grant recipients, serves as a significant resource in this mission.

Eligibility for the grants extends to instructors from various disciplines at accredited U.S. higher education institutions who plan to teach their updated courses in the 2024-2025 academic year. Teach Access particularly encourages applications from faculty at Minority Serving Institutions to support diversity in teaching accessibility.

Grant recipients are expected to present their work within their institutions and contribute to the growing Teach Access Curriculum Repository, furthering the organization’s goal of a universally accessible future through education.
