SumUp Expands ESG Efforts with Focus on Education and Environment in 2024

SumUp, a global financial technology leader, intensifies its commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) initiatives by launching new projects in education and environmental protection for 2024. SumUp aims to set a precedent for financial companies in addressing social issues and climate change.

In a significant expansion of its environmental efforts, SumUp announced the creation of the 'SumUp Forest' in the Peruvian Amazon, where it has sponsored 200,000 square meters of protected forest area through a partnership with Wilderness International. Additionally, it continues to support StoveTeam International to assist entrepreneurs in producing eco-friendly cookstoves in Central America.

Educationally, SumUp is broadening its programs across South America, affirming its dedication to creating opportunities for unprivileged groups. Partnerships with organizations like Generation in Brazil, Colombia, and Chile help provide technology-driven education, targeting women, migrants, LGBTQ+ communities, and other vulnerable groups. The initiatives include a new project with the Dharma Life in India, aiming to extend technology-enhanced learning to 10,000 children annually.
