STRABAG SE Plans Acquisition of WTE Wassertechnik GmbH

STRABAG SE has announced plans to acquire WTE Wassertechnik GmbH, a move aimed at expanding its portfolio to include integrated water management. The acquisition involves significant business sectors in Europe and the Middle East, although current projects in Budva, Zagreb, and Prague are excluded from the deal.

The purchase hinges on several pending approvals, notably from STRABAG SE's Supervisory Board and antitrust authorities. The proposed transaction includes a fixed purchase price of €100 million and the assumption of shareholder loans. Despite the acquisition, EVN AG will continue to finance ongoing projects in Kuwait and Bahrain, maintaining most of the construction risk.

The final contract is expected to be concluded by February 2025. The move reflects STRABAG's strategic expansion in the water management sector, enhancing its capabilities across key regions.
