Morrisons Partners with VusionGroup for Digital Shelf Edge Revolution
October 22, 2025 - Morrisons has announced a strategic collaboration with VusionGroup to deploy over 10.8 million electronic shelf labels (ESLs) in its 497 supermarkets across the UK. This initiative will kick off in early 2026, positioning Morrisons as the first major UK supermarket chain to fully implement this technology.
The integration of ESLs aims to streamline store processes by replacing traditional paper labels, ensuring accurate pricing and product information. This automation is expected to free staff to focus more on customer service. Moreover, the technology will work in tandem with digital shelf-edge cameras to improve stock management and enhance e-commerce operations.
This partnership is a pivotal step in Morrisons' digital transformation journey, reflecting a broader trend towards the digitalization of retail operations.
