Stony Lonesome Group Partners with Freedom First Corp

Stony Lonesome Group (SLG), a venture capital firm based in Tampa, Florida, has announced a strategic partnership with Freedom First Corp, a subsidiary of RTB Ventures, based in The Woodlands, Texas. As part of this partnership, Freedom First has committed capital as the anchor investor in Stony Lonesome Capital Special Reserve II LP, SLG's fifth fund.

The fund targets late-stage venture growth in deep technology, focusing on dual-use applications and supporting military Veteran founders. Samantha Young, Chief Investment Officer at RTB Ventures, highlighted the shift towards high-growth sectors like agriculture and technology, driving 'profits with purpose.'

SLG has a history of investing in Veteran-led firms such as ID.me, StreetShares, Neuroflow, and Cyberspatial. The partnership aims to expand the impact of these investments globally, focusing on national security and veteran care. Other notable partners at SLG include Lt Gen Brooks Bash, Maj Gen Earl Matthews, and Hon. Patrick J Murphy.
