STMicroelectronics launches a cutting-edge microcontroller for demanding applications
STMicroelectronics, a global leader in semiconductors, unveils the STM32V8, an innovative microcontroller built on 18nm FD-SOI technology and integrated with phase-change memory. This microcontroller targets advanced industrial applications, including industrial automation and robotics.
In partnership with Samsung Foundry, the STM32V8 is manufactured at the Crolles plant. It boasts high performance thanks to its Arm® Cortex®-M85 core, operating at 800 MHz. SpaceX chose this component for its Starlink network, demonstrating its capabilities in challenging environments.
The STM32V8 features advanced security functions, supporting encryption algorithms, and is targeting PSA level 3 certification. Its support for a 3.3V supply voltage ensures energy efficiency and signal integrity in modern industrial applications.
