South Star Announces Additional Sales of Natural Flake Graphite Concentrate to U.S. Customer
South Star Battery Metals Corp. has signed another commercial sales agreement for 40 tonnes of natural-flake graphite concentrate from its Santa Cruz Graphite Mine in Bahia, Brazil. This follows previous sales to a U.S. industrial graphite customer, whose identity remains confidential.
South Star expects to commission the Santa Cruz Phase 1 Plant in Q3 2024. The plant will produce around 12,000 tonnes of graphite annually. The company aims to fulfill initial sales agreements in Q4 2024. South Star is also planning to expand into battery-graphite products.
Richard Pearce, President and CEO, emphasized the importance of developing U.S. partnerships and leveraging their first-mover advantage to offer a broad product range. South Star intends to create a vertically integrated battery-graphite manufacturing plant in the U.S.
