South Pacific Metals Kicking Off 2024 Exploration at Anga Gold-Copper Project
South Pacific Metals Corp. (SPMC) announced the launch of its 2024 multi-stage exploration program at the Anga Gold-Copper Project in Papua New Guinea. Focused on the Irinke Prospect, the program targets lode gold and base metal-rich mineralization.
Initial activities will include soil and rock surface sampling and geological mapping, aimed at understanding the structural setting of high-grade veins sampled in previous years. These veins showed promising results, including 2.28 g/t Au and 1,254 ppm Zn.
The Anga Project shares geological similarities with nearby high-grade gold deposits, such as those at K92's Kainantu Gold Mine. The exploration aims to identify drill targets and expand the known mineralized footprint.
SPMC's team is optimistic about the potential of the Anga Project to unlock further opportunities. The three-week program underscores the company’s commitment to rigorous technical exploration in a geologically promising area.
