Snowline Gold Partners to Support Ross River School Meals Program

Snowline Gold Corp. has partnered with Ross River Dena Council and Yukon First Nation Education Directorate to provide temporary funding for the Ross River School's meal program. The initiative comes after the Rural Nutrition Program faced a funding denial, jeopardizing daily meals for students.

The company committed $90,000 to fund a part-time cook and maintain meal services. Initially, Snowline provided $10,000 and non-perishable foods to address the urgent need. This led to further discussions and an agreement to contribute an additional $80,000 to sustain the program for six months, while awaiting potential government funding.

This partnership aims to combat food insecurity, a significant issue in Yukon communities. Providing nutritious meals is seen as crucial for student well-being and learning, making Snowline's support vital until a longer-term solution is found.
