SMA Group Reveals 2024 Financial Decline and 2025 Guidance
SMA Solar Technology AG announced a 19.7% decrease in sales for 2024, totaling €1,530.0 million. The company's EBITDA fell to -€16.0 million, significantly below the previous year's €311.0 million. Earnings were affected by inventory impairments and restructuring costs. EBIT declined to -€93.1 million, with segments Home Solutions and Commercial & Industrial Solutions experiencing lower sales and higher costs. Conversely, the Large Scale & Project Solutions segment reported sales of €1,175.8 billion and an EBIT of €227.0 million due to high sales and a profitable product mix.
SMA plans to merge Home Solutions and Commercial & Industrial Solutions into "Home & Business Solutions" in 2025, streamlining operations and reducing costs. For 2025, SMA anticipates sales between €1,500 million and €1,650 million, with EBITDA ranging from €70 million to €110 million. The restructuring aims to drive future growth, with initial positive impacts expected in 2025.
