Queue-it and Akamai Technologies have announced the launch of Hype Event Protection, a solution targeting bot activity during high-demand events. These events often fall prey to bots that acquire sought-after inventory, leaving genuine customers disadvantaged and organizations facing increased operational costs.

The new solution merges Akamai Bot Manager's detection capabilities with Queue-it's virtual waiting room, slowing down bot operations by effectively managing traffic and identifying malicious users. This method enhances fairness by randomizing genuine customer access, blocking bots, and ensuring faster, more equitable participation in online sales.

In August 2025, a major ticketing provider used Hype Event Protection, significantly curtailing bot activity and improving ticket access for real fans by 50 times. The tool helps maintain site performance during traffic surges, enhancing revenue capture.
