PolyPeptide Group Launches New SPPS Capacity in Belgium

PolyPeptide Group AG has commenced production at its newly constructed large-scale solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) facility in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium. This development follows the completion of construction and testing phases, aligning with the company's 2024 guidance and mid-term outlook. The facility is part of a multi-year commercial agreement valued at approximately EUR 100 million annually post-ramp-up.

To enhance productivity, the new site integrates proprietary manufacturing technology with advanced automation, featuring closed material flows and reduced solvent usage for better sustainability. The investment in this facility reached EUR 100 million, marking the largest single investment in the company's history. CEO Juan José González emphasizes that this project represents a significant collaboration with a GLP-1 customer, and further capacity expansions are planned.
