Poly Auction Hong Kong Spring Auctions 2024 Concludes with Robust Sales

Poly Auction Hong Kong successfully wrapped up its 2024 Spring Auctions on April 9 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Hong Kong, marking a significant achievement with a total sales surpassing HKD 292 million, magnified to nearly HKD 330 million including private sales. The event showcased a vibrant collection across various departments with nine special sales, eliciting unprecedented enthusiasm among collectors and intensive bidding wars. High-profile lots in Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, particularly, fetched over HKD 10 million each, with a Qianlong period vase leading at HKD 24 million.

The Modern and Contemporary Art department boasted notable sales, with Yayoi Kusama's "Red Pumpkin" selling for HKD 18 million, and several works significantly exceeding their estimates. The Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy department, led by Zhang Daqian's "Misty Clouds at Mount Ali," achieved substantial sales, highlighting the ongoing collector interest in traditional art forms. In addition, the auction introduced successful sales in jewels, watches, and handbags, with remarkable pieces such as a Fancy Pink Diamond ring and a rare Patek Philippe watch gathering top bids.

Amidst growing digital engagement, Poly Auction Hong Kong also announced the launch of an official eShop, aiming to cater to the global collector community more effectively. With this season's auctions, the house reinforced its position in the art market, demonstrating a keen understanding of collector demands and market trends.
