ParTec and University of Naples Plan AI Supercomputer "VESUVIO" for Europe

ParTec AG and the University of Naples Federico II have announced plans to construct an AI supercomputer, named "VESUVIO," in Naples. This partnership aims to enhance research-oriented computing services across various sectors like industries, smart cities, and healthcare. The project will leverage ParTec's Modular System Architecture and represents a step towards European digital sovereignty in AI technology.

The collaboration involves experts in AI and IT from ParTec and professors from multiple departments at Federico II. The initiative, building on a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding, marks a pursuit of AI autonomy in Europe. The next step involves drafting an Operating Agreement to further the project's development.
