OPPO Partners with UNESCO to Empower Youth and Preserve Culture Through Technology

SHENZHEN, CHINA - 18 September 2024 - To celebrate its 20th anniversary, OPPO is teaming up with UNESCO to promote cultural education and diversity using imaging technology. This initiative aims to preserve cultural heritage and connect youth with diverse cultures, reflecting the theme "Connecting Cultures, Inspiring Futures."

As part of the collaboration, OPPO will donate 1000 tablets to support youth education in Africa and Asia. These devices will feature cultural programming courses developed under the 'Youth Coding Initiative,' a joint effort by UNESCO and CODEMAO. Firmin E. Matoko of UNESCO praised OPPO's commitment to advancing youth innovation and education in alignment with UNESCO's vision.

Additionally, OPPO is launching the global #CaptureMyCulture campaign, encouraging users to share photos and stories that honor their local traditions. Earlier this year, OPPO also launched the "Culture in a Shot" project with Discovery Channel, capturing global cultural diversity through imaging technology.
