Northern Data Group Opens Advanced AI and HPC Data Center in Pittsburgh

Northern Data AG has announced the opening of a next-generation AI and High Performance Computing (HPC) data center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This facility, operated by Ardent Data Centers, will provide 20MW of phased capacity tailored for advanced AI model training and HPC needs.

Equipped with energy-efficient technologies such as rear door heat exchanger and direct-to-chip liquid cooling, the center targets a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) as low as 1.15. It aims to support high-density, high-speed, and sustainable compute environments for innovative companies.

John Hoffman, COO, highlighted the significance of this center in expanding Northern Data's global AI infrastructure. The company plans further development of HPC data center sites in both Europe and the US.
