Northern Data Group Achieves Top Rank in AI Cluster with London Supercomputer

Northern Data AG's Taiga Cloud cluster in London, named Njoerd, has attained the 26th position on the prestigious TOP500 list. This ranking highlights the cluster's distinction as the highest quality high-performance computing (HPC) system of its size globally. The achievement underscores Northern Data's dedication to providing premium AI and HPC infrastructure.

The London-based cluster, developed in association with HPE, features leading NVIDIA H100 performance. It boasts a Linpack performance of 78.20 PFlop/s and a theoretical FP64 peak of 106.28 PFlop/s. Optimized for demanding AI workloads, it reaches peak efficiency with a remarkable FP8 performance of 3.86 ExaFlop/s.

Incorporating state-of-the-art hardware, the system includes HPE Cray XD670 with NVIDIA H100 GPUs and Intel Xeon CPUs, supported by advanced Infiniband NDR400 networking for minimal latency and high throughput. Moreover, the cluster is designed for energy efficiency, maintaining high performance without environmental compromise.
