NORMA Group Provides Clamps for Cooling System of German Energy Storage Facility
NORMA Group has secured a contract to supply V-band clamps for a German energy storage facility's cooling system. The customer, a leader in flexible metal tubes, will integrate the clamps to manage the thermal system of large stationary batteries. From summer 2024 to the end of 2028, NORMA Group will deliver 30,000 to 180,000 clamps annually, totaling approximately EUR 2.4 million.
The facility aims to balance the fluctuating availability of wind energy by storing electricity in batteries. These clamps are vital for the cooling system, which circulates a glycol-water mixture to maintain optimal battery temperatures. Developed in 2019, the VPP Bi-Cone clamp ensures leak-tight connections between metal tubes.
CEO Guido Grandi highlighted the importance of stationary energy storage in transitioning to renewable energy. He emphasized NORMA Group's commitment to innovative solutions and high quality standards for critical infrastructure projects.
