NACC Thailand President Advocates Innovative Tech to Combat Corruption at Southeast Asia Conference

On June 7, 2024, the S31 Hotel in Bangkok hosted the Second International Conference on Anti-Corruption Innovations in Southeast Asia. Organized by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) of Thailand, the event showcased advanced technologies and strategies designed to combat corruption across the region.

Police General Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit, President of the NACC, emphasized the use of geoinformatics technology in the fight against corruption. His speech detailed how the NACC has utilized this technology to suppress corruption, prevent future instances, and inspect assets and liabilities.

The conference featured notable experts, including Professor Matthew C. Stephenson from Harvard Law School and Ms. Annika Wythes from UNODC. Panels covered topics like Open Data’s role in promoting transparency and the impact of corruption on transnational organized crime.

Networking events allowed attendees to connect and explore new anti-corruption technologies. Various organizations, including the Knowledge Hub for Regional Anti-Corruption, the UNODC, ACT, and CAC, collaborated to make this conference a success. The event was live-streamed globally on NACC’s official channels.
