Meridian Engages Ausenco for Cabaçal Feasibility Study; Signs LOI with Aurubis

Meridian Mining SE has appointed Ausenco do Brasil Engenharia Ltda. to conduct a definitive feasibility study (DFS) for the Cabaçal Au-Cu project in Mato Grosso, Brazil. The DFS is scheduled to be completed by the first half of 2026. The study aims to provide a basis for a final investment decision on the project build in 2026.

Additionally, Meridian has signed a Letter of Intent with Aurubis AG, Europe’s largest smelter group. This partnership will focus on optimizing Cabaçal's copper, gold, and silver sulphide concentrates for smelting performance. The agreement will also help Meridian align with EU and OECD due diligence regulations, facilitating future concentrate exports to Europe.

This strategic move enhances Meridian’s path from resource development to becoming a mining and exporting entity, with potential finance sourcing from European institutions.
