Lonza Announces AGM Details, Leadership Changes, and Sustainability Achievements

Lonza Group AG has revealed the agenda for its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for 8 May 2024 in Basel, Switzerland. The company announced a proposed 14% dividend increase and the publication of its 2023 Annual and Sustainability Reports. Notably, Albert M. Baehny will not seek re-election as Chairman, with Jean-Marc Huët nominated as his successor. The AGM will also see the re-election of all current Board Members, except for Baehny.

The company’s sustainability efforts were highlighted with the publication of its 2023 Sustainability Report, showcasing Lonza’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics integrated into its compensation policy. Furthermore, Lonza’s near-term science-based emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), emphasizing the company’s dedication to reducing its carbon footprint. Lonza aims for a 42% reduction in absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 from a 2021 base year.
