Logitech G Study Highlights Esports Growth and Olympic Aspirations

A recent global study by Logitech G suggests esports is gaining widespread recognition as a viable professional path. The study, based on responses from 18,000 individuals across 12 countries, reveals a growing acceptance of esports and professional gaming. Notably, 54% of respondents globally see esports as a legitimate career, with support growing among younger generations.

The survey shows an increasing cultural acceptance, with nearly one in ten people considering a career in esports if they could restart. Gen Z, in particular, shows strong interest, with 15% ranking it amongst their top career choices.

Esports events continue to attract massive audiences, such as the League of Legends World Final with a 50 million peak viewership. Despite this momentum, the industry's integration into the Olympics faces mixed opinions, with only 22% considering it suitable for inclusion.
