Julius Baer Group Announces Board of Directors Nominees

Zurich, 11 March 2024 – Julius Baer Group Ltd., a prominent wealth management group, has announced the nomination of Bruce Fletcher and Andrea Sambo as new independent members of the Board of Directors. The nominations will be presented for election during the Annual General Meeting scheduled for 11 April 2024. These nominations come as Gilbert Achermann steps down due to term limits, and David Nicol retires from his position as Chair of the Governance and Risk Committee.

Bruce Fletcher, bringing four decades of financial industry and risk management experience, and Andrea Sambo, with a 25-year career in financial roles, are poised to contribute substantially to the Board. Fletcher, a citizen of both the UK and the USA, has served as Chief Risk Officer at NatWest Group and has held significant roles at Citigroup and HSBC. Sambo, an Italian citizen, has notable experience from his tenure at UBS in London and previous positions at Morgan Stanley and Banca Commerciale Italiana.

Romeo Lacher, Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed gratitude to Achermann and Nicol for their service and welcomed the nominations of Fletcher and Sambo, highlighting their industry expertise and excellent reputations. Fletcher is expected to assume the role of Chair of the Governance and Risk Committee upon election.
