Josep Maria Recasens Takes Over as CEO of Ampere
Ampere has announced Josep Maria Recasens as the new CEO, effective April 1, 2025. He succeeds Luca de Meo, who led Ampere since its inception in November 2023. Recasens, formerly COO, aims to continue the company's transformation efforts, fueled by its ambition to lead in the electric and software industries.
The leadership transition also brings changes within the company. Marie Ollier is appointed VP of Human Resources, while Sandra Gomez takes on Ampere Strategy, both joining the Leadership Team. Vittorio d’Arienzo will expand his role as Product Global Leader for Ampere vehicles.
Recasens has a rich history with Renault Group and previously held strategic roles at SEAT S.A. He is focused on reducing costs by 40% and launching new EV models, such as Twingo in 2026 and a C-segment lineup by 2028.
