Implenia wins major railway project in Gothenburg, Sweden

Implenia, the leading Swiss construction service provider, has been chosen by Trafikverket to realize a section of the “West Link” project in Gothenburg, Sweden. The amount of this order exceeds CHF 100 million.

The “West Link” project aims to improve mobility, with three new stations and an increase in train frequency, making travel in western Sweden easier. Implenia will build a railway tunnel and the new “Haga” underground station, complete with service, ventilation and fire protection galleries.

This project represents a logistical challenge due to limited space in an urban area. Its start-up is planned for autumn 2024, with completion of work expected in 2029.
