HPW Metallwerk Expands in the USA and Advances New Plant in Austria

HPW Metallwerk GmbH is poised for expansion into the US market. The Austrian company, known for its high-performance copper wire used in e-mobility and wind power, has gained new American OEM customers. Their products, such as PEEK-insulated flat wires, will be integral to the next generation of electric motors. These contracts will commence between 2026 and 2027.

A logistics center will begin operations in the US by 2026, with production facilities ramping up soon after. Ohio, North Carolina, and Tennessee are under consideration for the new site. This move aligns with HPW’s strategy to strengthen its foothold in the US e-mobility market, with planned investments in the double-digit million euro range.

Meanwhile, HPW is progressing its new production facility in Garsten, Austria. Full commissioning is expected in early 2025, focusing on PAI-insulated high-tech flat wires.
