Holcim Expands in Latin America with New Acquisition

Holcim has announced the acquisition of Compañía Minera Luren, a prominent Peruvian producer specializing in building solutions. This move is set to enhance Holcim’s presence in Peru and drive growth across Latin America. Compañía Minera Luren, known for its energy-efficient walling systems, brings a workforce of 377 employees into the Holcim fold.

The acquisition aims to create substantial synergies in the region, complementing Holcim’s existing business. Oliver Osswald, Region Head Latin America, emphasized that this addition will broaden Holcim’s product offerings, enabling comprehensive solutions from foundational elements to roofing.

Founded in 1956, Compañía Minera Luren not only produces walling systems but also offers specialty building materials and industrial minerals, which align well with Holcim’s operations in Peru.
