Robot Anxiety Peaks in Areas with Lowest Robot Visibility, According to Hexagon Study

A new study by Hexagon reveals that robot anxiety is highest in regions where robots are least visible. The "Robot Generation" research surveyed 18,000 participants across nine major markets, uncovering varying levels of anxiety towards robots.

In the UK, 52% of adults experience anxiety about robots, compared to only 29% in South Korea. In contrast, China, where 75% of adults have seen or used robots, shows the highest excitement for their potential at 81%.

The study highlights that security is a major concern, with 51% citing hacking risks over job replacement or trust issues. Anxiety decreases when robots operate visibly and safely next to humans.

Hexagon's findings indicate that increasing public exposure and understanding of robots may help build trust and lower anxiety.
