Halving of BTFS Storage Rewards
Singapore, May 28, 2024 – BitTorrent announced the upcoming halving of storage rewards on the BTFS network. Starting from June 25, 2024, the daily rewards for storage miners will be reduced from 15 billion BTT to 7.5 billion BTT.
This change is part of BTFS's strategy to ensure long-term growth and stability. BTFS is a decentralized file storage system utilizing blockchain technology to enhance file security and reliability across multiple nodes. The network currently boasts over 8 million nodes, with more than 6 million super miners.
Since its launch in 2019, BTFS has distributed 25 trillion BTT in rewards. The halving process occurs every two years to encourage miners to optimize node performance and efficiency.
In addition to the rewards halving, BTFS plans to release an update to its official technical community website and the BTFS v3.0 Mainnet. These enhancements aim to improve protocol efficiency, expand the user base, and enhance overall functionality.
