Grid Metals Corp. Advances Makwa Nickel Project to Drilling Stage

Grid Metals Corp. has announced that its Makwa nickel project in southeastern Manitoba is advancing to the drilling stage. This follows an agreement with Teck Resources Limited, allowing Teck to earn up to a 70% interest in the project with a contribution of $17.3 million. The project has completed aerial geophysical surveys identifying high-priority anomalies indicative of potential massive sulphide accumulations.

Teck plans to initiate drilling in a targeted area with a 2,500-meter program, once exploration permits are secured. A geophysical survey, conducted by Geotech Ltd, spanned 1,192 km using the VTEM MAX system. The company has formed a technical committee to oversee the project and confirm the first-year exploration plans. Drilling is anticipated by the end of the summer.
