Goldgroup Mining Boosts Cerro Prieto Operation
Goldgroup Mining Inc. has announced a significant enhancement in its Cerro Prieto gold mine operations in Sonora, Mexico. The installation of a second crushing circuit has successfully doubled the site's throughput capacity to over 4,500 tonnes per day. The initiative is aligned with the company's production goals of more than 24,000 ounces of gold annually.
The optimization program includes a re-leaching project, targeted to add up to 8,000 ounces annually. This follows a study by Anddes Mexico S.A. de C.V., highlighting the economic feasibility of extracting residual gold from existing heap leach pads accumulated since 2013.
Goldgroup is also focused on exploration and resource expansion to further extend the mine's life and annual production. The successful implementation of these strategies is essential for enhancing productivity, efficiency, and profitability at Cerro Prieto.
