Gerresheimer Expands Production at Wertheim for Ready-to-Fill Vials

Gerresheimer AG has announced the initiation of a significant expansion at its Wertheim site in Germany with the construction of a new production facility focused on ready-to-fill (RTF) vials. This development, part of Gerresheimer's growth strategy, involves a total investment of approximately EUR 30 million and is expected to generate around 50 new jobs for skilled regional workers by 2028.

The new production hall will measure 4,000 m² and facilitate the manufacture of high-quality RTF vials using the innovative EZ-fill Smart packaging platform. This expansion aligns with Gerresheimer's strategy to enhance its offerings for the pharma and biotech industries. The Wertheim site, a center of excellence for vials and ampoules, will further strengthen Gerresheimer's capability in delivering optimal product quality and protection for biopharmaceuticals.

This investment also underscores Gerresheimer's commitment to sustainability. The new facility will incorporate a photovoltaic system and rely entirely on renewable energy, enhancing energy efficiency and minimizing environmental impact.
